“One and one are one/ two – be finished using – well enough for schools – but for minor choosing- Life – just – or death or the everlasting – more – would be too vast for the soul’s comprising.” (Emily Dickinson 1861)
A contemporary dance production where body and live music interacts into an empty space. This work is the shared intention of creating a unique emotional “body”, a unique artwork, a unison through mutual listening and spiritual alignment, wherein movement and music cannot exist one without the other having at the same time a strong interdependency relationship.
The body affirms its presence, observes itself, analyses itself, moves, moves in space, goes through it, breaks it, recomposes it, encloses it. A careful, incomplete, (apparently) inarticulate but strongly present body strictly connected to a clear mind that has lost all restraints and that, contrarily to a rational, logic, intellect state follows and is carried by the body.

“38 HZ” is a deep sensorial experience where sound, intimacy and otherness meet. 38 Hz is the frequency that stimulates our brain to release endorphins, the pleasure hormones driving the public to reach a state of absolute joy.
The reactions of the vegetative system provoked by this frequency are satisfaction, enjoyment, a kind of skin orgasm.
38 HZ is a live music performance having as its main matrix sound, voice, body and lights improvisation. Both sound and voice are processed in real time with the use of software and analog equipment. The spectators dive into a sort of tub full of sound and lights thus playing an active role.

The ceremony had started. The procession went up the hill.

They were taking wooden statutes with the peplos. Maidens

with transparent tunics were already throwing the javelin. Under the poplars

nine thieves were playing dice. Further down, beside the river,

the austere controllers were measuring with irreproachable precision

the genitals of the ephebes. Eumolpo, slacker as usual,

was eating a can under the arch. Then the Blind Man,

with a white ribbon on his forehead and a basket of grapes,

walked me and left his lyre on my lap.

"Estate_celebrazione #4" is a performance resulting from the research work of the artist Iula Marzulli on the cycle of the seasons. It is the fourth part of a seasonal cycle, inspired by observing and listening to the changes of nature perceived as mineral, floral and animal life. This nature is anthropized but we can however recognize in it a relationship with the visceral and not purely productive time.

Estate_Celebrazione #4 is a multidisciplinary work wherein different artistic forms meet such as audio, video, movement, poetry and still performance.

Why talking about seasons? Why about summer? Why a celebration and a ritual in this specific time?

The focus of the work is recognizing a loss and at the same time searching for humanity, feeling that we are accustomed to our own inhumanity and that we have lost tenderness and care for everything.

Starting from the mineral, vegetable and animal elements, we can ironically rediscover a sense of humanity and accept the human condition. Observing the seasons and natural changes, even if anthropized, offers us a different way of processing our time.
